I am a missionary kid, born in Bangkok, Thailand (incidentally, the last name Voraritskul is Thai, not Eastern European). I grew up between Texas, Thailand, and the Philippines. My wife Kristy and I met in college, realized a common love for missions and travel, and were married in 1996. Our kids, “the nuggets,” are Ethan and Molly, who attend Veritas School.

I have had the opportunity to teach in the public school system and to serve in a large church in Richmond—youth pastor for 9 years, worship leader, communicator, and on senior staff for another 5. Kristy and I served as missionary teachers/ministry partners in the Philippines for 2 years, and most recently, I held a strategic role at a marketing firm called Details Communications.

Though I grew up in a Christian home, I only finally came to faith in Christ after a long, conversational/intellectual journey, and a legitimate personal experience of inner transformation. Throughout my life, God has been developing and intensifying in me a profound desire to see the Church strategically orient all its best people, resources, creativity, and thinking to reach the unchurched, and so, I’m happy to spend the rest of my life busting my chops to help as many people as possible realize a transformational relationship with their creator, God, through Christ. I’m super humbled and grateful for the opportunity to do just that with Hope Church in the Midtown area of RVA.
