Zephaniah 3:17 Lamentation 3:4
“Sometimes what we need to cure our fat egos is a strong dose of God. Long before a certain visionary “discovered” the earth round, God sat enthroned above the circle of the earth. Long before men were so “enlightened”, God formed the light and the darkness. Long before the first billion dollars were invested in exploring space, God’s own hands stretched out the heavens. Long before there was a “beginning”, God had already planned the end. If only we could realize we make life so much more complicated when our approach to life is “all about me”. When we see ourselves as the center of the universe, we live in constant frustration because the rest of creation refuses to revolve around us. God is God! Frankly, it is all about Him. Thank goodness He is the center of the universe. – Without the Potter, clay is just dirt.” Beth Moore

For Fun I Enjoy-
Spending time with friends, hiking and snow skiing. The Rockies are my happy place.
I was born in Meridian, MS and moved to Richmond when I was in elementary school. Most of my family is still in MS and I love going there to visit. I grew up in a Christian home and never really questioned believing in Jesus. I followed in family footsteps and went to Ole Miss. In college, I really started to grow in my faith and “make it my own” through RUF and CRU. I learned the importance of discipleship and having others walk along side of me as I grew. After school, I returned to VA volunteered with student ministry for about ten years. I had a passion for kids and wanted to see them grow in their walks. I was also working in finance and investments during this time and for several years after marrying and having children. My husband Steve and I have 2 kids in college.
At times, my walk with the Lord has been a “stroll” and at others it has been a hang on for dear life roller coaster ride. The hard times have really allowed me to know Christ better and grasp the promises in His Word. I can honestly say the hard times have brought growth and blessing and the opportunity to truly be upheld and carried by the Lord. C.S. Lewis said it best “God whispers to us in our pleasures but God shouts to us in our pain.”
We came to Hope several years ago when we were looking for a new church home. We had known Pete and David from our previous church. We came to visit and found our new home immediately. After my children went to college, I was thinking about going back to work. During the summer of 2013, I saw the post for a part time financial associate and am so thankful to be a part of such a wonderful group of people. I have to smile at God’s timing and plans. Years ago I thought about full time ministry but did not see Him leading me there. I was already working here before it dawned on me that I was there now – His timing, His way! I am so excited and thankful to be a part of this community and what God is doing here.
