Each week during this sermon series, we will be highlighting a different organization that is caring for others well, and we will provide ways you can get involved in supporting them.
WEEK ONE + INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE MISSION (IJM)
IJM is a global organization that protects the poor from violence in the developing world. They believe that justice for the poor is possible and are inspired by God’s call to seek justice and love for all of His people. Specifically, IJM is working in the Dominican Republic to combat child sex tourism, which has grown rapidly into a ruthless business over the last 10 years. Sexual violence is violence against the body and soul.
WEEK TWO + GOOCHLAND FREE CLINIC & FAMILY SERVICES
Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services’ (GFCFS) mission is to provide access to health care and basic human services to Goochland community residents who are in need of assistance. We are glad to participate monthly in helping provide food through Bag-it-Sunday. We invite you to grab a bag from Hope on the last weekend of every month, fill it with non-perishable food items, and return it on the first Sunday of the month.
- West Creek: Grab a blue bag in the concourse on your way out!
- Midtown: The food collected at Midtown will go to support Feedmore Richmond. Grab a green bag in the concourse on your way out!
THE HOPE 5K & ENDORPHIN FITNESS KIDS MILE
Hope’s Annual 5k is a great event that your whole family can enjoy together. Proceeds will go toward supporting Children’s Home Society of Virginia. There’s free childcare for runners, a family festival on site (bounce house, and DJ), Free Chick-Fil-A biscuits for runners, and the Endorphin Fitness Kids 1-mile Fun Run!
WEEK THREE + COMPASSION
Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that pairs compassionate people with those who are suffering from poverty. The ministry releases children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. The goal is for each child to become a responsible and fulfilled adult.
We invite you to stop by the Compassion tables in the concourse at West Creek or Midtown and rescue a child through sponsorship.
WEEK FOUR + CHRISTIAN AID
Christian Aid assists more than 500 ministries with tens of thousands of indigenous or native missionaries serving in the field. These ministries are currently in more than 100 countries around the world, especially in places where American missionaries are no longer allowed to go.
Hope is excited to support Christian Aid and their ministries with the work they are doing to help provide for the needs of refugees. Food is in short supply. Clean drinking water is scarce. Contamination and disease is permeating these refugee camps. ISIS continues to relentlessly terrorize them.
We invite you to learn more about Christian Aid, to pray for them, and to financially support their work.
