Cooking, entertaining, designing, traveling and spending time near the water.
I grew up in a small, quaint town on the North Shore of Long Island. I had an idyllic childhood, spending my days at the little beach behind my house and riding my bike all over town until darkness called me home.
I moved to Virginia to attend James Madison University the summer of 1982. I started working in Richmond right out of college and have made Virginia my home ever since.
I have attended other churches regularly, but after I found Hope there was a stirring in me that I had never felt before. A nudging of the Holy Spirit that I was exactly where I should be, and not just a place to “come to”, but a place to grow and connect. I jumped in as a volunteer, began weekly Bible studies and attended the Discover Hope class to become a member. I began working at the front desk one day a week and love what a true ministry my work there has become. The Lord is working in my life in ways I never thought possible.
Recently, I have become commissioned as a Stephen Minister at Hope, and am excited about helping others by walking along side of them through times of hardship and grief. When my position at Hope Thrift opened up I knew it was the perfect fit for me. I love having the ability to combine ministry work with my years of being an interior decorator to help make Hope Thrift a wonderful place to shop, find treasures, connect with others and support the community through the store’s outreach and missions. The Lord is truly at work there!
