Adventure Woods Update
We are so excited about the new school year and the chance to love and care for your children!
We want to inform you that the Adventure Woods area has experienced moisture and humidity as a result or hurricane Irene and the ensuing power outage. Mildew was discovered in some places. This past week all the carpets were professionally dry-cleaned. The fixtures, play equipment, and toys have been thoroughly cleaned, as well. Dehumidifiers have been placed in every room and an allergen remover in the theater. We believe we have remedied the situation. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed.
It is a privilege to partner with you and to share the love of Jesus with your children.

Karen Wood, Children’s Ministry Elder
Starting school
School is starting soon.
sigh.
I love the encouraging words in this blogpost. Especially the one about drawing close to my kids when they are being the most challenging. I need to hear that!
Enjoy this and hopefully your kids will enjoy the free sandwich wrappers for a first day of school treat.
What’s up with Camp Splash?
It has been a hot two weeks of camp.
(Boy, is that an understatement!)
I am in awe of how God is working these two weeks. It is amazing how you plan and work toward an end, but it is His work that really makes it something special. Last week, over 65 kids heard a message of God’s love, while staying cool with slime and water balloons and parachute time. Many families were invited into the homes of Hope folks and welcomed with open arms. What an example of what God calls us to do…Love your neighbor. I have watched moms and dads sit with as much wonder and amazement in their eyes as their children during the lesson time. Isn’t that what growing as a family is about?
This week has been a little cooler than the last and we are providing a morning, afternoon, and evening option. It isn’t too late to join us. We still have our slime day to come! We would love for you to be a part of what Hope is doing in neighborhoods across Richmond. Maybe this is your chance to invite a neighbor to join you for something fun?
