For Fun I Enjoy
Making things, playing my guitar, laughing, long drives, live music, mountains
I was born in Hampton, VA and my family and I moved to Richmond when I was in 3rd grade. God totally flipped my life around during the middle of high school. During that time I started reading a lot of scripture, and everything I read pierced my heart. God really opened my eyes and made me aware that the life I was living was not honoring Him and that I was on the wrong path. He gave me a true understanding of His grace and the sacrifice He made for me on the cross. Ever since then my life has been radically different.
I went to VCU School of The Arts where I studied graphic design, while at the same time worked part time in student ministry at another church here in Richmond. When I graduated I moved out to Texas where I continued working in the church doing student ministry and graphic design. I loved the opportunity and the time I spent living in Texas, but being so far away from all my family and friends and the feeling it brought was not something I anticipated. So I decided to move back home to Virginia. When I got home, my sister Katie Johannesson and her husband invited me to Hope Church one day and I immediately felt at home. Everyone here made me feel like I’ve known them for years. I’m so excited about what God is doing at Hope Church and I’m honored to serve as a staff member.
